Editing a split face
Good morning
I have used the split face command to add some sailor courses and marble faces to a brick wall. Everything is working well......
I need to revise one of the outlines for the sailor course. I cannot figure out how to get back to the outline of the sailor course to change it.
Thanks
Wiley

You need to select the face, then the ribbon will switch to the Modify Split Face tab. There, find the Edit boundary tool. If you have difficulties selecting exactly the face you need, hit the tab key until you see the "Split face: face region.." notification in the status bar.

That did not work for me and i'm having the same problem right now. When i edit the boundary, ALL my split face lines disappear and it only highlights the outer boundary. It doesn't let me select the split face when i select a range and then filter.

You need to TAB until only the Split Face line is highlighted. Otherwise you edit the boundary of the entire element.

Are yours faces that have been split, or are they sweeps/reveals?

Had to cross-select on a soffit and then filter only the split face in ordertop be able to then edit it. Not such a problem on walls for some reason.

The ribbon only allowed editing the boundry - not the pattern

Reopening this old thread because I was having a similar issue and wasn't able to select the split element to edit the boundary, hoping that this will help others too if they come here..
My split face was done in a workset that wasn't visible.
This allows to still show the different patterns, but won't allow to select the split element.
So either check for hidden elements in your views or set all your worksets to "show" in the view you want to work (if you're working in a shared model)

2 Ways to select Split face:
- Zoom out until Hatch display changes into solid. Then Tab to select Split face.
- Use Range select and Filter to get the Split face.
